Your only qualification was staying loyal

On the sea of glass and fire, the faithful sing — and their only qualification was staying loyal, not winning, not being impressive, not avoiding cost. The ones who played it safe and sided with the beast to avoid that cost end up facing a far heavier one instead.

Lord, thank you that you ask me to stay loyal, not to be impressive. Where I am tempted to play it safe and trade a little loyalty for comfort, hold on to me. Let me join the song of those who stayed faithful. Amen.
