What crown are you still holding onto?
Heaven’s answer to an overwhelming situation isn’t a strategy — it’s a throne room. But walking through that door costs something specific: laying your own crown down, handing over every part of your life without carving out an exception. Worship that doesn’t cost anything usually isn’t worship yet, just admiration from a safe distance.
The Lamb who looked like he had been slain is the one who makes that exchange worth making. He’s not asking for a crown he hasn’t already earned the hard way himself.
Questions to reflect on
- What’s the one part of your life you’d most want to keep out of that throne room if you’re honest — the “crown” you’re still quietly holding onto?
- What would it actually look like this week to lay that specific thing down, rather than worshiping in general terms that cost you nothing?
Prayer
Lamb of God, you are worthy. You know the crown I still hold on to. Help me lay it down before you, not in general words but in this one specific thing, because you gave everything first. Amen.
