The bowls of wrath (Ch.15-16)

The bowls of wrath are listed as the last of the plagues, and they are the most intense of the three cycles.

First of all, how can a loving God be full of wrath? It’s a fair question, and the short answer is that this wrath is God acting with passion — directed at hardened hearts, false trust, and the silencing of his people.

This passage shows that God does not give up. He gives everything he has to draw all people into relationship with him, yet he still respects it when they turn away.

This is also the passage where Armageddon is mentioned — not a place, but a principle that runs throughout the Book of Revelation: the victory of the hopelessly weak over the invincible strong.
