The letters to the churches (Ch.2-3)

What is God’s vision for the Church? Is it just to be saved and get to heaven?

It is more than that. His vision is that we should be a light to the world, an undisputable example of God’s character, and a people who walk in full dependence on him.

That’s the whole calling — nothing more, nothing less. Yet when we look at the seven churches, we find that most of them are struggling, and even the ones who come through victorious don’t look especially inviting to us. Why is that?
