The trumpets (Ch.8-9)
The trumpets pick up right where the seals leave off — the last seal has only just been opened.
They begin with a prayer meeting: the prayers of the saints, offered to God, are what set the trumpets blowing. It’s our prayer that carries this much weight.
One by one, the trumpets strip away every security people rely on — food, trade, orientation, health, hope, life itself. Yet even then, in the fifth and sixth trumpets, people choose to cling to the very demons tormenting them rather than turn to God.
