Rev. 4: The Best Party in Heaven
The Best Party in Heaven
Story to read: Worship in the Throne Room
Bible: Revelation 4–5
The Picture
John got to peek through a door into heaven, and guess what he saw? A party! Not a party with balloons and cake, but even better — everyone in heaven was gathered around God’s throne, singing to him together. There were creatures singing “Holy, holy, holy!” People bowing down with joy. Everyone was happy at the very same time, singing to the very same God, forever and ever.
It’s the happiest, loudest, most joyful gathering there could ever be — and no one is left out, and it never has to end.
Our Refrain
“Jesus wins, and he loves us.”
Try singing it to a simple made-up tune, the way heaven sings to God!
Activity
Singing Circle: Stand in a circle holding hands. Sing a simple, familiar praise song (or hum a happy tune together) while gently swaying or clapping, imagining you’re joining the party in heaven. Take turns letting each child say one thing they love about God before the song starts again.
Coloring option: Color a picture of a big, joyful circle of people and animals around a bright throne, everyone with their arms up or hands clapping.
Simple Prayer
“God, thank you for being so good that everyone in heaven sings to you. I love you too. Amen.”
Note for the Teacher
Keep the “four living creatures” and “twenty-four elders” from Revelation 4 in the background — you can mention “amazing creatures” and “wise elders” if a child asks, but the point of the session is the feeling of joyful, non-stop, everybody-included worship, not cataloguing who is in the room.
