Let me guess why you’re here.

Maybe someone quoted “666” at you, or Armageddon, or the mark of the beast, and you realized you had no idea what any of it actually meant. Maybe you grew up hearing this book preached as a countdown to disaster, and it left you more anxious than hopeful. Maybe you’ve read it yourself, alone, and come away more confused than when you started. Or maybe you’re just curious why the strangest book in the Bible still gets talked about two thousand years later.

Whatever brought you here - welcome. You don’t need any prior knowledge to start, and you don’t need to already agree with anything you’ve heard about this book before. All you need is a willingness to look at it with fresh eyes.

Why this book, why now

Here’s the honest truth: the Book of Revelation has an image problem. It’s been used to sell doomsday calendars, fuel bad movies, and scare people into pews. If that’s the picture you’ve been given, you’re not being unreasonable - that really is how it’s often been sold.

But that’s not what this book actually is. It was written to seven real churches, in seven real cities, at a time when following Jesus could cost you your business, your reputation, your safety, or your life. It’s not primarily a puzzle to decode or a countdown to a future disaster. It’s a letter to discouraged, pressured, ordinary people, reminding them who is actually in charge of the world - and why that’s good news.

And that’s exactly why it still matters today. We may not face Roman emperors demanding worship, but we know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed by bad news, unsure who to trust, tempted to go along with whatever keeps life comfortable. This book was written for people in exactly that position. Its subject was never really future disaster - it’s Jesus, and what it means to actually worship him instead of whatever else is competing for that place in our lives.

What you can expect

Along the way, you’ll find real answers to questions that have probably bothered you for a while - why suffering alone never actually changes anyone’s heart, why worship sits at the very center of this book instead of fear, what the Great Tribulation really is and whether there’s a “rapture,” what Armageddon actually means, and what God’s own vision for his church looks like when it’s working the way it’s meant to.
